Day Charter

A single-day charter trip, typically 4-8 hours, where guests return to the dock the same day.

A day charter is any charter trip that departs and returns to the dock within a single day, without overnight accommodation aboard. Most day charters in South Florida run 4-8 hours. Common formats include a half-day (4 hours), full-day (6-8 hours), or sunset cruise (2-3 hours in the evening).

Day charters are typically captained. Because no sleeping arrangements are required, vessels commonly used for day charters include center consoles, catamarans, yachts, and party boats. Pricing is usually hourly or flat per trip, plus captain gratuity, fuel, and any provisioning the customer adds.

Day charters are the most common charter type on direct marketplaces because they're easier to book spontaneously and require less planning than multi-day charters.

Examples

  • A 4-hour Biscayne Bay trip leaving at 11am and returning at 3pm.
  • A Miami sunset cruise departing at 6pm and returning at 9pm.
