Marina

A commercial facility providing docking, fueling, maintenance, and support services for recreational boats.

A marina is a commercial facility that provides docking, fueling, and various support services for recreational and commercial boats. Services typically include permanent slip rentals, transient dockage, fuel (diesel and gasoline), pump-out, water and power hookups, Wi-Fi, laundry, ice, and sometimes marine-mechanic services, brokerage, and restaurants.

Marinas vary widely in amenities, from basic fuel-and-dockage operations to full-service superyacht destinations with valet parking, concierge, gyms, and waterfront retail. Slip assignments are typically by LOA, with wider catamaran slips charging a premium.

For charters, the marina is the customer's first touchpoint — parking, walk-up quality, and check-in clarity at the marina strongly influence the overall charter experience even when the boat itself is excellent.

Examples

  • Miami Beach Marina — a large superyacht-capable facility on Watson Island.
  • Bahia Mar in Fort Lauderdale — host to the annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
